Yee Haw Birthday

The Vintage Sound (SS-0328) and Dude Ranch Bundle (BD-0281) make a great combination.

I stamped the guitar from the Vintage Sound stamp set with Cocoa Powder Ink (IP-0016) onto a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock (CS-0040) that is 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.  The music notes came from the same stamp set and were stamped in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.  Yee Haw came from the Dude Ranch Bundle (you can buy the stamp set and dies separately or buy them as a bundle and save some $ to spend on other treasures).  I stamped the Yee Haw in Oatmeal Cookie Ink (IP-0011).

Love the Dude Ranch Bundle and Vintage Sound Stamp Sets Together!

I took a piece of Denim Days cardstock (CS-0082) that was 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed it using the Corrugated Board Embossing Folder (EF-0017).  I popped up the Whip Cream card base onto the embossed piece of Denim Days and adhered that to a Whip Cream card base that is 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.  I added some Turbo Teal Silk (IP-0119) and Silver Silk (IP-0090) to the card front.

I used Dark Roast Ink (IP-0050) to stamp the cowboy hat from the Dude Ranch Bundle onto Hazelnut Blend Cardstock (CS-0013) and cut it out using the coordinating die.  Then I stamped Happy Birthday (from that same bundle) using Denim Days Ink (IP-0010) onto a piece of Whip Cream cardstock and flagged the end.  I had an piece of Corrugated Cardstock (ST-0124) and flagged the end as well and popped those up onto the card front.  Added some Journey Natural Twine (AC-0005) and popped up the cowboy hat over that with Foam Squares (AD-0085).

I couldn’t stop there, I had to use the boots from the Dude Ranch Bundle and decided to stamp those on the inside using Cocoa Powder Ink.  I thought the saying from the Adventure Awaits (SS-0334) stamp set went perfectly with the card. That was stamped using Cocoa Powder ink as well.

Adventure Awaits Stamp Set really complements these boots.

I hope you have a Yee Haw day!!!

Vintage Sound/Happy Birthday

I love music!!!  There was nothing like listening to a record on the record player.  Listening to all the clicks and pops and yes the times when you had to put a penny on the needle so it wouldn’t skip (boy have we come a long way).  LOL – so the minute I saw the Vintage Sound stamp set (SS-0328) I had to get it.  I just knew it would be a big hit!  I decided to make a birthday card with it for another music lover in my family.

Vintage Sound Stamp Set (SS-0328)

I stamped the guitar from the Vintage Sound Stamp Set (SS-0328) onto a Hazelnut Blend (CS-0013) card base using Dark Roast (IP-0050) ink.  I used some of the images from the same stamp and embossed them onto Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock.  Before embossing I prep my cardstock by using our Colorless Blender (JM-0095) to help reduce the static.  The records and music notes from the Vintage Sound Stamp Set were stamped with Clear Pigment Ink (IP-0102) and embossed using Black Embossing Powder (IP-0099) and for the record adapter, I stamped the image in Lemon Drop (IP-0043) Ink and the very quickly applied Clear Embossing Powder (IP-0097).  [Our inks dry quickly (which I love) so I wanted to make sure that I applied the Clear Embossing Powder right away and then heat set with the Heat Tool (TO-0083). ]

Vintage Sound 2
Love how the records look embossed.

I added some Silver Silk (IP-0090) and Turbo Teal Silk (IP-0119) to the panel before I adhered it to a piece of Pool Play (CS-0092) cardstock which I popped up using Foam Squares (AD-0085) onto the Hazelnut Blend card base.

I cut a piece of Vellum (PP-0044) using our Journey Circle Dies (DI-0039) (these come with a piercing element as well).  Popped that up using Foam Squares and added a piece of Journey Silver Thread (AC-0204) before adding the sentiment that was stamped in Dark Roast Ink (IP-0050) onto Whip Cream cardstock and cut out using the Details Pro Shears (TO-0063).

I felt the card still needed a little something so I added some of our Rainbow Drops (AC-0178). (You get a variety of colors and sizes with these gems – I have 2 sets, one to use and one to just look at!).

I wanted to add a little something to the inside of the card as well so I used Pool Play Ink (IP-0051) to stamp the Vintage Notes (SS-0303).  I didn’t want a full impression so when I applied the ink I made sure that it was applied randomly to the image.  Happy Birthday was stamped in Dark Roast Ink (IP-0050) and came from the Cake Time Stamp Set (SS-0138).  I wanted to continue the pattern from the front of the card so I added some Silver Silk and Turbo Teal Silk to the inside of the card as well.

Love to bring elements from the outside of the card to the inside.

I love the images from the Vintage Sound stamp set and didn’t get to use them all on this card so I just had to stamp the envelope (ST-0118) as well.

Vintage Sound Env
Used more images from the Vintage Notes Stamp Set to decorate the envelope.

Love Paris

The minute I saw the Love Paris stamp set (BD-0040), I fell in love with it.  There was just something about it that drew me in!!!

Paris 2
Love Paris

I used the marbling technique for the background.  To get the marbling technique, you take your Media Tray (TO-0122) and add some water (enough to cover the bottom of the tray).  Then take any of our silks, in this case I used Turbo Teal Silk (IP-0119) and add a few flicks into the water.  You then take your card front, I used Banana Cream card stock (CS-0087) for my card front and gently lay it on top of the water.  You are just laying it on top of the water to pick up the color, you should not submerse it.  Lift it up and move the card stock around to move around the color.  Be sure to let it completely dry.  If you are impatient like me, you can use your Heat Gun (TO-0083) to speed up the drying process.

Be sure to stamp off when stamping the Postage Stamp in River Stone Ink

Once completely dry, I ran it through my Amaze Machine (TO-0134) to help flatten it out a bit.  After I stamped the Eiffel Tower in River Stone Ink (IP-0053).  I then pulled out my Postage Stamps ATS (AT-0056) and stamped it using the stamp off technique.  To get the stamp off technique you stamp your image in your ink, in this case I used River Stone Ink, then stamped it off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped it onto the card front.  (Note:  I used the same process to stamp the Postage Stamp  on the inside piece of Banana Cream cardstock) – see the photo below.

Paris 3
It is a nice touch to continue the theme on the inside of the card as well.

The word Paris was stamped using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041).

I used the Postage Stamps ATS again, to stamp on Bubble Gum card stock using River Stone Ink and die cut that out using the smallest detail butterfly from Artful Butterfly (DI-0007).  I used the smallest outline butterfly from the same die set and cut that out using Journey Brushed Silver cardstock (CS-0135).

I flicked some Gold Silk (IP-0096) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) to both the card front and the bubble gum butterfly.

The card front was adhered using our White Liner tape (AD-0001) to a piece of Cool Pool card stock (CS-0018) which was then popped up using Medium Foam Squares (AD-0085) to a River Stone card base.

Before applying the butterflies, I curved the wings using my Crease Tool (TO-0040).  The butterfly was adhered together using Glue Dots (AD-0083).  I finished off the card with some Pearls ( AC-0024).

I hope you give the marbling technique a try.  It is really a great way to change up your card front without taking away from the stamp images.

May all your hand-made creations be Inked with Kindness, Stamped with Love.

And I hope you Love Paris!!!!
