Just Because

There are many reasons why I love Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ).  The biggest for me is the quality/selection of projects available.  The second biggest is the training.  They are always teaching new techniques.

During FSJ Presents in December, we made 4 projects, got to play with some of the new products that are in the Bloom This Way Trends Mini for 2018, got a sneak peak at the Trends Mini and was offered bundles that previewed some of the products that we got to order and play with before the Bloom This Way Trends Mini went live.  And do you know what the best part of this is…..FSJ Presents is not only for FSJ coaches but also FSJ customers!!!  Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you can be the first to know about the next FSJ Presents.  You can experience FSJ Presents from the comfort of your home or get a group of crafty friends together and make it a crafting with friends event.

Now onto the project.

Just Because FSJ Presents

A piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) card stock was cut out using the Journey Rectangles (DI-0041).  Using the Spring Bontanicals (SS-0544) stamp set the Lemon Drop (IP-0043) floral image was stamped onto the card stock and using a sticky note a mask was created before stamping the other floral images from this set in Watermelon Fusion (IP-0027), and Kiwi Slice (IP-0024).  The sentiment came from the Everyday Script (SS-0543) and was stamped in Black Licorice (IP-0041).    To add more depth to the floral images, the Rich Sorbets PanPastels (JM-0082) and the Journey Sofft Tools (JM-0098) were used to build up the color in the darker areas of the images.

Using Mirror Gold (CS-0136) some of the elements were cut out from the Romantic Blooms Die (DI-0345).  On a scrap piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) card stock, the feather was stamped in Black Licorice (IP-0041) and the flower was stamped using Tangerine Fusion (IP-0005).  These pieces were cut out using the coordinating dies.

The Mirror Gold elements, Feather and Tangerine Fusion flower were popped up using Foam Squares (AD-0084).

Before adhering the Whip Cream panel to the Watermelon Fusion (CS-0039) card base, Classic Elegance Journey Tape (AC-0291), Simply Gold Journey Tape (AC-0294), I Heart Clip (AC-0261) and Journey Twine Licorice Twist (AC-0267) were added to the card panel.  Finally Fashion Gold (AC-0292) and Black Licorice Silk (IP-0143) were added to finish of the card.

Dutch Door/Barn Door Card | Best Wishes

I have heard this type of card called a Dutch Door Card or Barn Door Card.  I thought I would share this with you so that you can see more of the prints in action from the Spring Filled Prints (PP-0051).

Best Wishes Dutch Door4

I layered some of the patterns from the Spring Filled Prints (PP-0051)  onto pieces of Lemon Grass (CS-0019) before adhering them to a Bubble Gum (CS-0099) card base.  Using the Spring Botanicals (SS-0544), I stamped the flower image on Whip Cream (CS-0040) in Watermelon Fusion (IP-0027) ink and then the stems in Lemon Grass (IP-0022) ink.  I used the Journey Ovals (DI-0042) to cut out the stamped piece.  Using Lemon Grass (IP-0022) ink, I stamped the Best Wishes from the Everyday Script Bundle (BD-0344) onto a piece of Bubble Gum (CS-0099) card stock before cutting it out using the coordinating die.

Best Wishes Dutch Door3

Using Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) and a Small Blending Brush (TO-0097), I brushed the Sparkle Silk onto the floral image.

Best Wishes Dutch Door4

Using the Just Write Gel Pens (JD-0060), I traced over the letters in Best Wishes to add a little more interest.

Best Wishes Dutch Door5

I adhered the pieces onto the card base using Easy Glide (AD-0081.  I still felt that it needed something so I added some Fashion Gold (AC-0292).  I really think they helped to finish off the card.

Best Wishes Dutch Door1

And because I am curious, what do you call this type of card, Dutch Door or Barn Door.  Drop me a comment and let me know.

Spring Botanicals Card Set

I am loving the Spring Botanicals (SS-0544) stamp set.  I don’t know how to explain it other than to say that the stamped images have so much depth that you would think that it was two step or triple step stamping.  But it is really just one step stamping!

Spring Botanicals Card Pack 1

I decided to make several different cards with different sayings and used the ink colors for the card bases for these cards.  On a piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) card stock, I stamped the sentiments in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.  The sentiments came from Everyday Script (SS-0543) and Bird Melody (SS-0496).

Then I stamped various images from the Spring Botanicals (SS-0544) stamp set in the following inks:  Summer Days (IP-0042), Pool Play (IP-0051), Bubble Gum (IP-0058) and Lavender Fusion (IP-0036).

Spring Botanicals Card Pack 3

These panels were then adhered to the card bases using Easy Glide (AD-0081).  I used Summer Days (CS-0033), Pool Play (CS-0092), Bubble Gum (CS-0099) and Lavender Fusion (CS-0017) for the card bases.  Super easy, super quick and really gorgeous.  A set of these would make a wonderful hand-made gift for someone.  Why not make a couple sets so that you have them on hand.

Spring Botanicals Card Pack 2

With Fun Stampers Journey color palette of inks and coordinating cardstock, the color combinations are endless.

Spring Botanicals Card Pack 1

There are several stamp sets just like this one in the Bloom This Way Mini Trends Catalog (CL-0030).  I love this new stamp design.  So much fun!

Thank You | Everyday Script

I have been working on customer Thank You cards.  I thought what better way to brighten their day, especially if they are experiencing the winter snow and cold as I am, than with Spring Botanicals.

Thank You Panpastels

On a piece from the Spring Filled Prints (PP-0051), I stamped the Thank You sentiment from Everyday Script (SS-0543) in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.  I used Fresh Forest (IP-0013) and Lemon Grass (IP-0022) ink to stamp some of the leaf images from the Spring Botanicals Bundle (BD-0343) onto this piece as well.  I then adhered a strip of the Spring Filled Prints (PP-0051) onto a strip of Mirror Gold (CS-0136).

On a scrap piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) card stock, I stamped one of the floral images from the Spring Botanicals Bundle (BD-0343) in Sweet Berry (IP-IP-0029) ink and cut it out using the coordinating die. Using the Rich Sorbets (JM-0082) Pan Pastels, I applied it to the darker parts of the flower. This really adds a lot of dimension.  I popped this piece up using Foam Squares (AD-0085).  A Sparkle Drop (AC-0022) was added to the center.

Thank You Panpastels 2

The images from the Spring Botancials (BD-0343) bundle are great on their own but adding the PanPastels to the darker parts of these images really helps to bring it over the top.

May all your hand-made creations be Inked with Kindness, Stamped with Love.

Happy Crafting!
