Happy Anniversary (using two Step stamping)

Here is a quick Anniversary card that I put together using the Summer Rose (SS-0345) stamp set.  Such a beautiful stamp set.  This stamp set uses the two step stamping technique.  I love the way this technique looks using the Summer Rose stamp set.

Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary using the Summer Rose Stamp Set

Black Licorice (CS-0003) cardstock was used for the card base and the top panel is Butter Cream (CS-0006).  I cut another piece of Butter Cream for the inside as well.

The rose was stamped using Bubble Gum (IP-0058) and then the detail of the rose was stamped using Candy Apple (IP-0017) ink.  I love how realistic the rose looks using those colors.  The leaves were done the same way but using stamped with Limeade Splash (IP-0019) and Fresh Forest (IP- 0013).  The sentiment was stamped with Black Licorice (IP-) ink.  The sentiment comes from the Bird Melody (SS-0496) stamp set (that also comes in a bundle with matching dies).  I love the font on the sentiments from this set.  So elegant.

I finished off the card by adding some Bubble Gum (IP-0092) and Sparkle (IP-0126) Silk.  Wrapped the card with Candy Apple Twine (AC-0266) and added some Special Celebrations Sequins (AC-0115).

May all your hand-made creations be Inked with Kindness, Stamped with Love.

Happy Two-Stepping!!

Love Paris

The minute I saw the Love Paris stamp set (BD-0040), I fell in love with it.  There was just something about it that drew me in!!!

Paris 2
Love Paris

I used the marbling technique for the background.  To get the marbling technique, you take your Media Tray (TO-0122) and add some water (enough to cover the bottom of the tray).  Then take any of our silks, in this case I used Turbo Teal Silk (IP-0119) and add a few flicks into the water.  You then take your card front, I used Banana Cream card stock (CS-0087) for my card front and gently lay it on top of the water.  You are just laying it on top of the water to pick up the color, you should not submerse it.  Lift it up and move the card stock around to move around the color.  Be sure to let it completely dry.  If you are impatient like me, you can use your Heat Gun (TO-0083) to speed up the drying process.

Be sure to stamp off when stamping the Postage Stamp in River Stone Ink

Once completely dry, I ran it through my Amaze Machine (TO-0134) to help flatten it out a bit.  After I stamped the Eiffel Tower in River Stone Ink (IP-0053).  I then pulled out my Postage Stamps ATS (AT-0056) and stamped it using the stamp off technique.  To get the stamp off technique you stamp your image in your ink, in this case I used River Stone Ink, then stamped it off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped it onto the card front.  (Note:  I used the same process to stamp the Postage Stamp  on the inside piece of Banana Cream cardstock) – see the photo below.

Paris 3
It is a nice touch to continue the theme on the inside of the card as well.

The word Paris was stamped using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041).

I used the Postage Stamps ATS again, to stamp on Bubble Gum card stock using River Stone Ink and die cut that out using the smallest detail butterfly from Artful Butterfly (DI-0007).  I used the smallest outline butterfly from the same die set and cut that out using Journey Brushed Silver cardstock (CS-0135).

I flicked some Gold Silk (IP-0096) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) to both the card front and the bubble gum butterfly.

The card front was adhered using our White Liner tape (AD-0001) to a piece of Cool Pool card stock (CS-0018) which was then popped up using Medium Foam Squares (AD-0085) to a River Stone card base.

Before applying the butterflies, I curved the wings using my Crease Tool (TO-0040).  The butterfly was adhered together using Glue Dots (AD-0083).  I finished off the card with some Pearls ( AC-0024).

I hope you give the marbling technique a try.  It is really a great way to change up your card front without taking away from the stamp images.

And I hope you Love Paris!!!!

Graduation Card

I needed a lot of graduation cards this year.  This is a great card layout because you can easily change the colors to match the school colors for the graduate.

graduation 4
I love the Cascading Hearts Die

I embossed the sentiment Congratulations with black embossing powder.  Remember to use the colorless blender before embossing to get rid of the static so that the embossing powder only sticks to the clear pigment ink.  This is really a life saver when it comes to embossing.

I am big on sentiments and the inside sentiment Let the Adventure Begin seemed so fitting for this card.

Graduation 3
Stamped the sentiment in Pretty Pansy ink to match the cardstock

A finished off the card by adding some additional stars (cut them using the Star Dom Bundle – love this bundle because one set cuts and the other set pierces).  These were cut out of Journey Brushed Silver cardstock.

graduation 5
Love the Journey Brushed Silver Cardstock

Added some Silver Sparkle Tape, Twinkle Trim – wanted to make it look like light shooting from the star.  I thought it still needed a little something so I added Silver Silk and Sparkle Silk.

Thank You/Flower Swirls

I am loving our daubers!!!  I have been using them a lot lately and just love how smooth you can work our inks on the cardstock.  It is a great way to add color especially if you don’t have the time to detail color your inked image.

Thank You
Flower Swirls (SS-0454)

Moving your dauber in a circular motion, color 4 different areas on your Whip Cream Cardstock (CS-0040) using Rich Coral Ink (IP-0052).  Be sure to have some darker and lighter spots.  Remember nature is not perfect (that’s what makes it so beautiful) and by varying the shades of color you can give the illusion of sunlight or shade on the flower which helps to give it some dimension.

Then stamp (over the Rich Coral circles you created) the large and medium flower swirl once using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041).  The smaller flower swirl, you will stamp twice.

Repeat the above process on the large and small leaf 3 times each on Whip Cream Cardstock using a combination of Sweet Pear and Lemon Grass ink to give the leaves dimension just like the flowers.

You can either detail cut around the flowers and leaves or use the die that is part of the bundle.

Stamp the Thank You sentiment on the lower portion of the Whip Cream panel.  Adhere the Sweet Pear strip and pop up the Whip Cream panel onto the card base.  Pop up the flowers onto the card base as above.

Finish the card off by adding some Silver Silk and Sparkle Silk.  I love how our silks really finish off the card!  (And if you ever make a crafting oops, they are a great way to cover it up!)

May all your hand-made creations be Inked with Kindness, Stamped with Love.

Happy Silver and Sparkle Silking!!!

Make A Wish/Dandelion Wishes

It was really difficult since there are so many great choices but this is on the top 10 list of my favorites products from the new catalog.

Make a Wish
Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set (SS-0497)

I just love, love, love this stamp set. The sentiment is just beautiful and can be used for so many occasions.

This card is great because it uses our Whip Cream cardstock for both the panel and base of the card.  There is something about white on white that looks so amazing!

Pool Play Ink (IP-0051) and a Dauber (TO-0138) was used to color the upper left portion of the whip cream cardstock.  You work the color in a circular motion – wanting it to be darker toward the top/side and then fade out as you move toward the center.  Our daubers are very easy to work with using this technique.  Very smooth.

Then stamp the large dandelion image and small stemmed image using Catalina Splash Ink  (IP-0073) several times.

Stamp the stemmed dandelion once and the smaller pieces a few times using Clear Pigment Ink (IP-0102) – pour White Embossing Powder (IP-0098) on to the dandelion images and flick off the excess – heat set using a heat gun (TO-0083).

Stamp the “Make a Wish” phrase sentiment onto the lower right corner of the Whip Cream (CS-0040) panel using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041).

Flick with Silver (IP-0090) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126).   (I use Sparkle Silk a lot so I make sure I order 2 bottles at a time – maybe I’m a little addicted).

Pop up the Whip Cream panel onto the Whip Cream card base using foam squares (AD-0084 or AD-0085).

Don’t forget to stamp your envelope to your choosing!  It is a nice added touch for the recipient.

Then sit back and enjoy your creation!

Happy Birthday

I needed a birthday card and I was having crafters block!  I started playing around with the Thread Sketch and Brush Stroke stamp sets.  After coming up with my design, I started to stamp the words Happy Birthday from the Cake Time stamp set.  And as I was getting ready to put the card front on the base, I realized that I totally stamped the words – Happy Birthday in the wrong direction given that I already stamped the inside sentiment.

So I was in a dilemma, do I re-stamp the whole card front (which would have not taken me very long) or to I re-stamp the inside sentiment.  Or do I try to make it work.  Being pressed for time, I decided to see what I could do to make it work.

This is the end result.

Happy Birthday Sketch
Some mistakes turn out to be the best looking cards.

I decided to stamp the Happy Birthday in the other direction.  I was very pleased how it turned out.

Happy Birthday Sketch2
Then I went a little overboard with the Happy Birthday – but it looks fun!

Of course I need to add some of our Silver Silk and Sparkle Silk!!!  Never can have too much silk!

Note that the Brush Stroke was on the Break-up Sale list and is no longer available but you could get a similar look from using our dauber dowels.

You Fill My Days with Joy

From the first moment I saw the Peach Blossom set, I knew I had to emboss it in gold!!!!

Days with Joy
Peach Blossom Stamp set embossed in gold

I used the reinkers with our Fusion Blender to color in the flower.  You can come up with some fantastic color combinations.  You can either put the fusion blender in one of the blender brushes or put it on an acrylic block.   Then put a couple drops of the reinker on another acrylic block.  You would just keep picking up a little of the fusion blender and some of the color depending on how deep you want the color.  It is a nice alternative to color pencils.

Days with Joy3
Sparkle Silk added to the pedals/Journey Glaze added to the center

I added some Sparkle Silk to the pedals of the flowers and then added some Journey Glaze in the middle of the flower.  Journey Glaze was added to random spots on the cardstock just to give it some added dimension.Days with Joy 2 copy

You can’t tell from the photo but I used one of the stamps from the Brushstroke stamp set to stamp the Buttercream card base.  I used Buttercream ink.  I wanted to add a little something to the cardstock but didn’t want it to over power the card.

I finished the card off with some Gold and Dark Roast silks.  Added Olive Green Satin Ribbon and was done.

I really like how the gold embossing really gives detail to the flower.
