Double Pocket Card|Gift Card Holder|Rainbow Drops

I needed to make several gift card holders and pulled out the Double Pocket Card Die (DI-0298).  I love how easy it is to but this together and that you have 2 pockets, one for the gift card and the other for a note.  There is also a Pocket Trim Die set (DI-0297) available that compliments this die set.

Double Pocket Die

I used a 12 x 12 piece of Beach Breeze (CS-0051) card stock and my Journey Platinum Machine (TO-0090) to cut out the die.  I used White Liner (AD-0001) to adhere the tab pieces together to make the pocket.  The die does make score lines so it is easy to figure out where to make your folds.  I used the snowflake from the Ski Sled Skate (SS-0360) stamp set and inked it up in Beach Breeze (IP-0044) ink for the front of the pocket.

I had a piece that I created previously when I was playing with the Gel Press (JM-0107), Lovely Blue Liquid Color (IP-0134) and the Winter Wonderland Stencil (JM-0086).  It was perfect to use on this card as a background for the note card and the accent trim piece on one of the pockets.

Double Pocket Die 4

Using the Snow Blooms Die Set (DI-0253) I cut out the pieces using Mirror Silver (CS-0137) and Brush Silver (CS-0135).

Double Pocket Die 3

For the note I stamped the Merry Christmas in Catalina Splash (IP-0073) ink from the Merry Words (SS-0451) stamp set.  I added one of the Brush Silver snowflakes to the bottom and added one of our Rainbow Drops (AC-0178).  I added a Brush Silver snowflake to the trim part of the pocket and added a Cut Rhinestone (AC-0023) to the center.  The big snowflake was adhered to the front pocket using a Foam Square (AD-0085) and then a Rainbow Drop was added to the middle using Glue Dots (AD-0083).

Double Pocket Die 2

I love our Rainbow Drops.  I am so glad they are part of the 12 Days of Deals. I am buying 2 sets as I do use them a lot.

It’s Only Cold..

I loved ice skating when I was younger.  I wasn’t very good but in my mind I was magnificent [ha, ha].  I think that is probably one of the reasons I was drawn to the Ski Sled Skate (SS-0360) stamp set.

The Ski Sled Skate (SS-0360) stamp set is becoming one of my favorites!  I love that there are so many fun winter elements that you can use either for cards, tags or scrapbook pages.  I have several folks in my social circle that have winter birthdays, I know I will be using this set to make special creations for them.

Its only cold
Ski Sled Skate = Winter crafting fun!!

On a Whip Cream (CS-0040) piece of cardstock, I stamped the ice skates in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.  I used our Color Burst Pencils (JM-0077)  #047 and #042 to color in the heel and blade of the skate.  To color in the skate boot itself, I took some of our Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) and put it on an acrylic block and then using our Small Blending Brush (TO-0097) brushed it onto the skate boot.

Adding the Sparkle Silk to the skate boot to give added interest.

I took some of our Lovely Blue Liquid Color (IP-0134) and applied it to an acrylic block and the added some water using a Medium Blending Brush (TO-0098) and applied that to the bottom of the card to look like ice.  I had a fine tip marker on hand that I used to lightly add a line as if it were skating marks on the ice.

The sentiment was stamped in Denim Days (IP-0010) ink and the snowflakes were stamped in Pool Play (IP-0051) ink.

I added some Sparkle Silk all over the card.  Using Glue Dots (AD-0083), I adhered some Special Celebrations (AC-0115) and Blue Skies (AC-0113) sequins. [the sequins are part of the 12 Days of Deals – check it out toward the end of this post].

The panel was then added to a piece of Mirror Silver (CS-0137) before being added to a Denim Days (CS-0082) card base.

Star of Wonder | Fresh Forest

I love being out in nature.  It definitely is my go to place when I need to recharge.

I enjoy making nature type cards for the holidays.  Last year I did a Raspberry Berry color, this year I went with Denim Days.  I love how you get a different look with each color.

Using the 1″ circle punch (TO-0013), I punch out a mask from a scrap piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) to make the moon.  I gently adhered this piece to a Whip Cream card panel.  Taking my Denim Days (IP-0010) ink pad, I applied the pad directly to an Clear Block J (TO-0079), the using the Brayer (TO-0087), I picked up the ink from the block and rolled it onto the Whip Cream panel staring at the bottom and working my way up to the top.

Star of Wonder

Using the Fresh Forest (SS-0487) stamp set, I inked up some of the images in Fresh Forest (IP-0013) ink and stamped them onto the same panel.  Using the Star from the Sparkle Trim (SS-0495) set, I stamped that in Journey Silver (IP-0107) ink.  The sentiment came from the Night Star (SS-0518) stamp set [this is a Host Exclusive] in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.

I mixed a bit of Gesso (JM-0072) and water [you can also use acrylic paint (JM-01063) and water – I will put both in the supply list below) and using the Medium Blending Brush (TO-0098) and a Clear Block F (TO-0075), I flicked the mixture off the edge of the acrylic block to make the snow.  I then added Sparkle Silk (IP-0126).  Once that was done I removed the 1″  mask.

This panel was then adhered to a piece of Mirror Silver (CS-0137) before being added to a Denim Days (CS-0082) card base.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Night Star (SS-0518) [Host Exclusive] stamp set in Black Licorice (IP-0041) and also added the star from the front to the inside using Journey Silver (IP-0107) ink.

Merry Christmas | Snowflakes

One of my fellow coaches come up with this card design.  I loved it so much that I just had to make it as well.  I changed it up a little bit – here is my version.  I love the color combination.

Merry Christmas Snowflake

On a piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock, I used a Clear Block C (TO-0036) (the non-grid side)  and inked it up in Cool Pool ink (IP-0074) and stamped it onto a piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock.  Then using a snowflake from the Snow Burst (SS-0144) stamp set [there are dies to match and it does come in a bundle], I stamped the snowflake using Beach Breeze (IP-0044) ink.  The sentiment was stamped in Rock Candy (IP-0028) ink and comes from the Merry Words (SS-0451) stamp set [there are coordinating dies for this and it comes in a bundle as well].  Silver Silk (IP-0090) was added to this panel as well.

Using a piece of the Mirror Silver (CS-0137) cardstock, I cut out the Snowflakes using the Snow Blooms Die Set (DI-0253).  Then not wanting to waste any of this wonderful paper, I adhered the Whip Cream panel onto of the Mirror Silver paper.  [this is a great way to conserve your precious papers, and only you will know what is underneath].  This piece was adhered to a Cool Pool (CS-0118) card base.

Merry Christmas Snowflake 2

The largest snowflake was applied using a Foam Square (AD-0085). Then on top of that I adhered the medium snowflake with a Glue Dot (AC-0083), and applied a Rainbow Drop (AC-0178) on top of that using a Glue Dot as well.  The smallest snowflake was applied to the lower left of the card using a Glue Dot and a Rainbow Drop was adhered with a Glue Dot.

I just love how this card turned out!!  I hope you give it a try.

Happy Halloween | Gimme Sugar | Bloom Benefit

For today’s card, I used the Haunted Halloween (AT-0205) Bloom Benefit  (Available with an order of $75 or moresee the end of this post for more details on the Bloom Benefits) from the Journey Holiday Trends Mini (CL-0028) as the focal point for this card.  I had leftover of the Black (IP-0099) and Silver (IP-0100) embossing powder that I had mixed together from the card the day before so I decided to try it with this stamp.  I do love how the Silver mixed with Black looks.  I embossed the image onto a piece of Tangerine Fusion (CS-0036) cardstock and cut it out using the Fancy Labels Die (DI-0035).  Using the same size die, I cut out a piece of the Mirror Silver (CS-0137) cardstock.  I then cut that piece in half and used Easy Glide (AD-0081) to adhere the Happy Halloween piece.

Happy Halloween Gimme Sugar 1
Yahoo for Bloom Benefits!! (yes, even coaches can get them with their qualifying order)

I took a piece of River Stone (CS-0094) cardstock and embossed it with the Spider Web Die Set (DI-0107).  [I really love my Amaze Machine and Journey Platinum because they show you a colored picture on the magnetic platform of how to make your  “sandwich” for embossing, die cutting and using your dies for embossing].  I took my Buttercream Ink pad (IP-0031) and gently rubbed it over the raised image and then did the same with the Rock Candy (IP-0028).

Happy Halloween Gimme Sugar 4
I love getting the most out of my dies.

I cut a small piece of pattern paper from the Fall Fest Prints (PP-0048) and some Black Satin Ribbon (AC-0106) and adhered them to the embossed River Stone piece.  Using Easy Glide, I adhered the River Stone card front to the Tangerine Fusion card base.  Using Foam Squares (AD-0084 and AD-0085), I popped up the Happy Halloween piece onto the card front as well.

The bats came from the Snapshot Frames Die (DI-0045).  I cut one out of Black Licorice(CS-0003) cardstock and the other I applied a piece of our White Liner Sheets (AD-0113) to a piece of Black Licorice cardstock before running the second bat through the die.  I then peeled off the backing and applied Sparkle Dust (AC-0013).  I applied those to the card front using Foam Squares.  Magical Candy Drops (AC-0106) were added.

Happy Halloween Gimme Sugar 3
The Sparkle Dust on the Black Licorice cardstock looks amazing!

For the inside of the card I used a couple more pieces from the Fall Fest Prints paper pack and then added the sentiment Gimme Some Sugar from the Gimme Sugar ATS (AT-0205).  The spider came from the Potion Tags (SS-0390) [the Potion Tags coordinate with the Bread Tags Die (DI-0133).  The words were stamped in Black Licorice ink (IP-0041) and the spider was stamped in Rock Candy.

Happy Halloween Gimme Sugar 2
The Fall Fest Prints are so pretty, I have to use every piece.

Bloom Benefits:
The Bloom Benefits are shown in the beginning of both the Journey Holiday Trends Mini (CL-0028)  and the Annual Catalog (CL-0025).  There are different Bloom Benefits available in each catalog and you can mix and match them.  You don’t need to select your Bloom Benefits from just one catalog.  I love that for any order over $50  you get to choose a Bloom Benefit.  Who doesn’t love to get something special with their order. There are different Bloom Benefits available depending on your order amount (the amount before tax and shipping – and yes coaches can get Bloom Benefits with their orders as well).

If You Got It Haunt It | Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

I am having so much fun with the Halloween stamp sets and goodies from the Journey Holidays Trends Mini (CL-0028) and the Annual Catalog  and Inspiration Book (CL-0025).  I have been wanting to play with these Halloween treats for a while but life had other plans so I am so glad I got to play now!!

Let me start by saying that I am LOVING the Mirror Sheets!  They come in Gold (CS-0136) and Silver (CS-0137) and they are just fabulous! [they would be awesome for other holiday cards as well].

Now onto the card.  I used the Spooky Bold Embossing Folder (EF-0022) and embossed a piece of Pretty Pansy (CS-0029) cardstock.  Then I took my Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink pad and gently brushed over the top of the embossing.  I applied some Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) and Silver Silk (IP-0090) before adhering it to the Mirror Silver (CS-0137) piece.  Then adhered that to a Black Licorice (CS-0003) card base.

Haunt It 1

Using the same size Journey Circles (DI-0039) I cut out a piece of Mirror Gold (CS-0136) and Lemon Drop (CS-0018).  On the Lemon Drop piece I used the Color Splash Watercolor (JM-0078) pencils (#0046, #0047 and applied a bit of Sparkle Silk with a Blending Brush (TO-0098).  I then added more Sparkle Silk to the moon.  Using Easy Glide (AD-0081), I offset the Lemon Drop (moon) piece onto the Mirror Gold and then popped that up using Foam Squares (AD-0084 and AD-0085).

On a piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock I embossed the witch from the Halloween Silhouettes Bundle (BD-0298) using both Black (IP-0099) and Silver (IP-100) embossing powder (I mixed a bit of the Silver with the Black – I like the way it turned out.  I think it gives it a  little glitz and glimmer.)  I cut it out using the matching dies.  I then popped her up using Foam Squares.

Haunt It 2
I added Silver Embossing Powder to the Black Embossing Powder

I added some Licorice Sparkle Tape (AC-0257) and Simply Gold Tape (AC-0294) [reminder, these are included in the Make Your Mark Promotion – 25% off].  I stamped the sentiment from the Creepy Kids (SS-0528) stamp set in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink onto a scrap piece of Orange Rave (CS-0124).

Haunt It 4
The Licorice Sparkle tape and Simply Gold tape are so pretty.

I couldn’t stop!  For the inside, I stamped the witch in Citrus Cooler (IP-0048) ink but stamped off first before stamping it onto the piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock.  I then took the sentiment from the Beautiful Wings (SS-0353) stamp set and stamped it in Black Licorice ink.

Be sure to stop back this week.  I will have more Halloween Treats to share with you!
