Oatmeal Cookie cardstock is a must have for me when I am making my holiday cards.  I love the vintage look it gives.  Very simplistic.

For this card I took a piece of Oatmeal Cookie (CS-0023) card stock and stamped the Vintage Notes (SS-0303) background stamp in Oatmeal Cookie (IP-0011) ink.  I stamped the words Wishing you a in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink that come from the Holiday Wishes (SS-0469) stamp set.  The small Poinsettia (Poinsettia Burst Bundle – BD-0295) was stamped in Cranberry Bliss (IP-0049) ink directly onto the Oatmeal Cookie panel and colored in the middle using #016 from the Journey Color Burst Pencils (JM-0077).  I added some Gold Silk (IP-0096) before adhering it to the Raspberry Berry (CS-0097) card base.

Using the large Poinsettia from the Poinsettia Burst Bundle (BD-0295), I stamped that in Cranberry Bliss ink onto a scrap piece of Butter Cream (CS-0006) cardstock and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I colored the center the same way as the smaller one.  Taking some Journey Gold Thread (AC-0205), I made a loop and adhered the thread and Pointsettia with a couple of Foam Squares (AD-0085) to the Oatmeal Cookie panel.  I felt it needed a little something, so I added Journey Glaze (AD-0003) and Sparkle Cuts (AC-0151) to the center of the large Poinsettia.

On the inside Merry Christmas from the Sparkle Trim (SS-0495) stamp set was stamped in Cranberry Bliss ink onto a Butter Cream panel.

I don’t know about you but I could totally go for an Oatmeal Cookie right now!

Merry Christmas

I always try to maximize my craft supplies.  I don’t like to waste anything and when you have such pretty papers, etc. you want to use every last inch!  My up-line, Deb is the same way and when she came up with this idea, I was just over the moon with it.  You pretty much use almost every piece! [Thanks Deb!!!]

To make this card you will need Black Licorice (CS-0003) cardstock, Mirror Silver (CS-0137), and Christmas Cheer Prints (PP-0049).

Using a piece of Black Licorice card stock cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, cut out the Gift from the For You Die set (DI-0252).  Keep the negative piece and the gift.  Then out of a piece of Christmas Cheer Prints cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4  and do the same thing.

Merry Christmas Gift Mirror 1
I love the Christmas Cheer Prints Paper Pack, so pretty!!

Adhere the Black Licorice negative piece to a piece of Mirror Silver and then you will do the same thing with the Christmas Cheer piece.  Once that is done, you will insert the gift. The Black Licorice will get the Christmas Cheer Prints and the Christmas Cheer Prints will get the Black Licorice.  Pretty neat!!  I heat embossed the Merry Christmas from the Merry Melody stamp set (SS-0516) in Silver Embossing Powder (IP-0100).

Merry Christmas Gift Mirror 4

Using Easy Glide (AD-0082) I adhered each panel to a Black Licorice card base, added some Fashion Silver (AC-0293) and the card was finished.

I will say that our Mirror Paper is very reflective!!  When I was trying to take a picture for this post I kept getting myself and everything that was behind me.  It was not funny at the time, but I can get a laugh out of it now.

Star of Wonder | Fresh Forest

I love being out in nature.  It definitely is my go to place when I need to recharge.

I enjoy making nature type cards for the holidays.  Last year I did a Raspberry Berry color, this year I went with Denim Days.  I love how you get a different look with each color.

Using the 1″ circle punch (TO-0013), I punch out a mask from a scrap piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) to make the moon.  I gently adhered this piece to a Whip Cream card panel.  Taking my Denim Days (IP-0010) ink pad, I applied the pad directly to an Clear Block J (TO-0079), the using the Brayer (TO-0087), I picked up the ink from the block and rolled it onto the Whip Cream panel staring at the bottom and working my way up to the top.

Star of Wonder

Using the Fresh Forest (SS-0487) stamp set, I inked up some of the images in Fresh Forest (IP-0013) ink and stamped them onto the same panel.  Using the Star from the Sparkle Trim (SS-0495) set, I stamped that in Journey Silver (IP-0107) ink.  The sentiment came from the Night Star (SS-0518) stamp set [this is a Host Exclusive] in Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.

I mixed a bit of Gesso (JM-0072) and water [you can also use acrylic paint (JM-01063) and water – I will put both in the supply list below) and using the Medium Blending Brush (TO-0098) and a Clear Block F (TO-0075), I flicked the mixture off the edge of the acrylic block to make the snow.  I then added Sparkle Silk (IP-0126).  Once that was done I removed the 1″  mask.

This panel was then adhered to a piece of Mirror Silver (CS-0137) before being added to a Denim Days (CS-0082) card base.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Night Star (SS-0518) [Host Exclusive] stamp set in Black Licorice (IP-0041) and also added the star from the front to the inside using Journey Silver (IP-0107) ink.

Snowman Shaker Card |Falala

So I have a funny story about this card.  When I first saw the Christmas Pals (SS-0483) stamp set in the Annual Catalog, I sort of liked it but never thought I would use it, so I passed it over.  When I would look through the catalog for other items to buy, I would keep going back to this stamp set but kept saying, “what would I do with it”.  I have to let you know that my brain never shuts off!!!  I mean never, I am constantly thinking of card ideas or how could I use this or that product differently [anyone else have that same issue?].  Well one morning I jumped out of bed and ordered the Christmas Pals stamp set immediately.  I had an idea and it would be perfect for a Holiday Class I had coming up.  I could not wait for it to come in so that I could start creating.  And as the saying goes, “A Star Card was Born” (LOL) [or in this case a Snowman].

Snowman Shaker 1

I want to focus on how I made the shaker card itself, so that this post isn’t too long. But have not fear, I will add the supply list for the other items used in this card at the end of this post.

Using the Journey Rectangles Dies (DI-0041), I cut a window opening into a piece of Catalina Splash (CS-0114) cardstock and embossed it with the Falala Embossing Folder (EF-0021).   I adhered a piece of our Clearview (CS-0121) sheets to the back of the Catalina Splash embossed piece using our White Liner (AD-0001)  .  I used foam tape [you could use foam squares, but the foam tape was easier for me and I had it in my stash] and added that on top of the clearview sheet (outlining the opening).  [You have to make sure you have no gaps or your shaker elements will fall out.]  Then I added my shaker elements making sure to spread them around the window and not over fill.  I then adhered the Pool Play piece making sure the stamping was facing the window.  This was adhered to the card base using Easy Glide (AD-0081).

Snowman Shaker 2

For the inside of the card, I took the same Christmas Pal elements to actually build the snowman but instead of using Whip Cream ink like I did on the card front, I used Lovely Blue (IP-IP-0075).  Lovely Blue is not an ink that you would actually stamp in as it is so light and really designed for backgrounds like the sky or clouds.  But it worked perfect here seeing that I was stamping on Whip Cream cardstock and didn’t want to use an ink that would be too dark.

Snowman Shaker 3

The inside sentiment is not Fun Stampers Journey but rather one that I had in my stash.  I just had to use it since I thought it went perfectly with this card and really finished it off.

I really had a lot of fun making this card and best of all the folks in my class that made it really enjoyed it was well!!!  Always fun learning a new technique and making an interactive card.

Warm Wishes |GeoBurst

Ok, so along with being addicted to our Sparkle Silk (IP-0126), I am addicted to the GeoBurst Die (DI-0217)!!!  I have a million ideas in my head for this die, ok maybe not a million more like 998,642.

Using the GeoBurst Die (DI-0217), I cut a piece of Whip Cream (CS-0040) cardstock.  I punched out the circles from Pool Play (CS-0092) cardstock using the 1 1/2″ circle punch (TO-0015). I adhered the circles to the back of the GeoBurst cut out piece using Craft Glue (AD-0111). [you want to use a craft glue or liquid glue so you have a little more time and flexibility to adhere the circle to the center of each GeoBurst]. I cut off the excess pieces of the circles using our Grand Pro Shears (TO-0064). Using the Craft Glue, I adhered this piece to a panel of Journey Brush Silver (CS-0135). [This is such a pretty cardstock].

Warm Wishes Geo 1
Love the Journey Brush Silver and Pool Play cardstock together.

I took a piece of RiverStone Satin Ribbon (AC-0139) and adhered it to the front of the panel before adhering it to a Whip Cream (CS-0040) card base. I added some Silver Silk (IP-0090) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126). Warm Wishes from the Hello Fall Stamp Set (SS-0450) was stamped in River Stone Ink (IP-0053) onto a piece of Whip Cream cardstock and punched it out using the 1 ¾ Circle Punch (TO-0016). The 2” Scallop Circle Punch (TO-0043) was used to punch out a piece of Pool Play cardstock. Those pieces were adhered together with Easy Glide (AD-0081) and popped up on the ribbon using Foam Squares (AD-0085). I added one of our Cut Rhinestones (AC-0023) over the “I” in Wishes.

Warm Wishes Geo 2
I love working with our ribbon!

For the inside, I stamped the Snowflakes in Pool Play Ink (IP-0051) and the sentiment in RiverStone Ink (IP-0053), both come from the Ski Sled Skate (SS-0360) stamp set.

Warm Wishes Geo 3
