Fall – Happy Birthday |GeoBurst Die

I have several folks in my family with Fall Birthdays.  I love creating with fall colors but wanted to make something that didn’t have fall items (like leaves, etc.).  I wanted to create something very different using the fall color scheme.  So I went to my favorite die on the planet – the GeoBurst Die(DI-0217).  Yes, it is by far on the top of my list of go to dies.  So unique and so many uses for it.

Fall GeoBurst Birthday 1

I stamped the Happy Birthday, that comes from the Arr Catey (AT-0202) stamp in Hazelnut Ink (IP-0012) onto a piece of Banana Cream (CS-0087) and then layered that onto a piece of Cocoa Powder (CS-0008) cardstock.

Using the GeoBurst Die (DI-0217), I cut out a piece of Cocoa Powder (CS-0008) cardstock.  then using the 1 1/2″ circle punch (TO-0031 and TO-0015) I punched out 14 circles from Summer Days (CS-0033) cardstock.  I adhered the circles to the back of the cut GeoBurst Cocoa Powder piece using Craft Glue (AD-0111) [the circles were adhered to the center each GeoBurst].  I cut off the excess circles with our Grand Pro Shears (TO-0064) [best shears ever, non-stick and self sharpening – and they cut through ribbon like magic].

This panel was then adhered to a Tangerine Fusion (CS-0036) card base.  The Happy Birthday banner was adhered on top of that.  I added some Gold Silk (IP-0096) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126).  And finished it off with some Rainbow Drops (AC-0178) and Fashion Gold (AD-0292).

I made another card using the same idea but changed the circles to Tangerine Fusion (CS-0036) and made the card base Summer Days (CS-0033).

Follow Your Dreams

I am big into inspirational sayings. They can really be the pick me up that someone needs as they go through their own life challenges.

For this card I used the Dreams Follow (SS-0508) stamp set [there is a coordinating die set available and it does come in a bundle].  I love how different some of the images look, almost embroidered.  I started with a piece of Banana Cream (CS-0087) cardstock and stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice (IP-0041) ink.  I then stamped the butterfly in Tangerine Fusion (IP-0005) ink and then using our Small Dauber (TO-0137), I added some Black Licorice ink around the edges of the butterfly before stamping it onto the Banana Cream piece.  I added some Bronze (IP-0091) and Gold (IP-0096) silk.  This panel was then adhered to a piece of Black Licorice (CS-0003) cardstock and adhered to a Tangerine Fusion (CS-0036) card base.

Fashion Gold accents (AC-0292)

I couldn’t decide what other accents I wanted to add so I made two cards, one with our Fashion Gold (AC-0292) and the other with our Sea Stones (AC-0283).  I can’t decide which one I like better because they both add a special element all their own.

I hope you give this card a try using the technique that I did on the butterfly.  It really gives it a different look.

Love Paris

The minute I saw the Love Paris stamp set (BD-0040), I fell in love with it.  There was just something about it that drew me in!!!

Paris 2
Love Paris

I used the marbling technique for the background.  To get the marbling technique, you take your Media Tray (TO-0122) and add some water (enough to cover the bottom of the tray).  Then take any of our silks, in this case I used Turbo Teal Silk (IP-0119) and add a few flicks into the water.  You then take your card front, I used Banana Cream card stock (CS-0087) for my card front and gently lay it on top of the water.  You are just laying it on top of the water to pick up the color, you should not submerse it.  Lift it up and move the card stock around to move around the color.  Be sure to let it completely dry.  If you are impatient like me, you can use your Heat Gun (TO-0083) to speed up the drying process.

Be sure to stamp off when stamping the Postage Stamp in River Stone Ink

Once completely dry, I ran it through my Amaze Machine (TO-0134) to help flatten it out a bit.  After I stamped the Eiffel Tower in River Stone Ink (IP-0053).  I then pulled out my Postage Stamps ATS (AT-0056) and stamped it using the stamp off technique.  To get the stamp off technique you stamp your image in your ink, in this case I used River Stone Ink, then stamped it off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped it onto the card front.  (Note:  I used the same process to stamp the Postage Stamp  on the inside piece of Banana Cream cardstock) – see the photo below.

It is a nice touch to continue the theme on the inside of the card as well.

The word Paris was stamped using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041).

I used the Postage Stamps ATS again, to stamp on Bubble Gum card stock using River Stone Ink and die cut that out using the smallest detail butterfly from Artful Butterfly (DI-0007).  I used the smallest outline butterfly from the same die set and cut that out using Journey Brushed Silver cardstock (CS-0135).

I flicked some Gold Silk (IP-0096) and Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) to both the card front and the bubble gum butterfly.

The card front was adhered using our White Liner tape (AD-0001) to a piece of Cool Pool card stock (CS-0018) which was then popped up using Medium Foam Squares (AD-0085) to a River Stone card base.

Before applying the butterflies, I curved the wings using my Crease Tool (TO-0040).  The butterfly was adhered together using Glue Dots (AD-0083).  I finished off the card with some Pearls ( AC-0024).

I hope you give the marbling technique a try.  It is really a great way to change up your card front without taking away from the stamp images.

And I hope you Love Paris!!!!

You Fill My Days with Joy

From the first moment I saw the Peach Blossom set, I knew I had to emboss it in gold!!!!

Days with Joy
Peach Blossom Stamp set embossed in gold

I used the reinkers with our Fusion Blender to color in the flower.  You can come up with some fantastic color combinations.  You can either put the fusion blender in one of the blender brushes or put it on an acrylic block.   Then put a couple drops of the reinker on another acrylic block.  You would just keep picking up a little of the fusion blender and some of the color depending on how deep you want the color.  It is a nice alternative to color pencils.

Sparkle Silk added to the pedals/Journey Glaze added to the center

I added some Sparkle Silk to the pedals of the flowers and then added some Journey Glaze in the middle of the flower.  Journey Glaze was added to random spots on the cardstock just to give it some added dimension.Days with Joy 2 copy

You can’t tell from the photo but I used one of the stamps from the Brushstroke stamp set to stamp the Buttercream card base.  I used Buttercream ink.  I wanted to add a little something to the cardstock but didn’t want it to over power the card.

I finished the card off with some Gold and Dark Roast silks.  Added Olive Green Satin Ribbon and was done.

I really like how the gold embossing really gives detail to the flower.
