Solar Eclipse/Let Your Light Shine

I am so excited about the Solar Eclipse happening on August 21.  Even though I am far away from its path, it is still going to be a spectacular event for those who can observe it closer to the path of totality.

So, what does a card maker do to celebrate this event?  Well make a card of course.  This is the card that I came up with using the Hello Love Bundle (BD-0262) and the Sun Rays Die(DI-0108).   I thought it was a fitting combination.

Let Your Light Shine

I used the Sun Rays die to cut out a piece of Black Licorice (CS-0003) cardstock.  Then I cut a piece of Summer Days (CS-0033) cardstock using the same die.  After I cut the Summer Days cardstock out, I cut off the border so that I just had the center and the rays.  I added some Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) to the Summer Days piece only.  Adhered the Summer Days piece with Craft Glue (AD-0111) to the back of the Black Licorice piece offsetting it a bit so that only some of the Summer Days was showing.  The completed panel was then adhered using Craft Glue to a Black Licorice card base.

Stamped the sentiment Let Your Light Shine from the Hello Love Bundle using Black Licorice Ink (IP-0041) onto a piece of Summer Days cardstock and cut that out using the matching days.  That piece was then adhered using Foam Squares (AD-0085).

I finished off the card by adhering some Special Celebrations Sequins (AC-0115) with Glue Dots (AD-0083) and added Journey Glaze (AD-0003) to the words.  I did use Sparkle Cuts (AC-0151) on one of the cards but I like it better with just the Journey Glaze.

I think this card is a great way to remember the Solar Eclipse and would make a great inspirational card for someone as well.
